Sheet Pan Shrimp Boil Recipe

Sheet Pan Shrimp Boil Recipe - Easy Meals To Cook

As a food enthusiast, I always find myself drawn to dishes that are not just great to eat but also bring people together. The sound of laughter and chatter igniting joy over a shared meal feels like home.
Recently, I discovered a dish that effortlessly combines the essence of a seafood boil with the simplicity of a busy weeknight dinner: the sheet pan shrimp boil. It’s almost magical how a single dish can keep everyone smiling and satisfied.
Let’s talk about what pairs well with this fabulous dish first. I'm a big fan of a refreshing Italian Pasta Salad. Picture this: you’ve got shrimp, corn, sausage, and potatoes sizzling on a sheet pan.
Meanwhile, a bowl of zesty pasta salad awaits on the table, ready to brighten up the meal. With fusilli noodles, crunchy veggies, and a delightful homemade dressing, it complements the shrimp boil beautifully. It’s all about that balance of textures and flavors, don’t you think?

Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined 455 g
  • 1 lb baby Dutch yellow potatoes, cut into halves or quarters 455 g
  • 3 ears 3 of corn, husked and sliced into 6 sections
  • 12 oz smoked andouille sausage, sliced thin 360 g
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 55 g
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Method

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grab a large sheet pan and line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup. If you’re like me and appreciate the little things, this step is vital.
Step 2: Toss the Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, sliced sausage, and corn. Drizzle them with melted butter, and sprinkle the garlic, Old Bay seasoning, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes. Toss everything well, ensuring an even coating. The more flavor, the better!
Step 3: Spread on the Pan
  1. Transfer the mixture from the bowl to the prepared sheet pan. Spread the ingredients evenly across the pan. Get every bit of that goodness in one layer.
Step 4: Roast Away!
  1. Roast the mixture in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. At this point, I can almost smell it! While that’s cooking, take a moment to set your timer and prep your shrimp and lemon wedges.
Step 5: Add the Shrimp
  1. After 20 minutes, pull the sheet pan from the oven. Scatter the shrimp over the existing mixture. Add the lemon wedges, squeezing a bit of juice on top for added flavor.
Step 6: Finish Cooking
  1. Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 10-12 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through. The aroma in your kitchen will be hard to resist!
Step 7: Garnish and Serve
  1. Once done, take the pan out and sprinkle fresh parsley on top. Serve immediately with additional lemon wedges for that extra zest. Enjoy with your favorite people.

Notes

  • Fresh Shrimp: Use fresh shrimp whenever possible for the best flavor.
  • Veggie Alternatives: Feel free to experiment with adding bell peppers or any other favored vegetables.
  • Pre-Cooking Potatoes: If you’re pressed for time, you can boil the potatoes partially before adding them to the pan.
  • Oven-Friendly Sausage: Ensure your sausage is oven-safe so it cooks nicely.
  • Watch the Heat: If you prefer less spice, reduce the red pepper flakes.
