Sheet Pan Chicken Parmesan Recipe

Sheet Pan Chicken Parmesan Recipe - Easy Meals To Cook

So, you’ve decided to make sheet pan chicken parmesan. Fantastic choice! But what else can you put on the table to round out this delicious meal?
Here are a few suggestions to get your culinary creative juices flowing: Nothing complements Italian cooking like a slice of warm, buttery garlic bread. It’s perfect for soaking up any extra sauce!
A crisp Caesar salad will add a refreshing touch, with the crunchiness of romaine lettuce and tangy dressing pairing beautifully with the crispy chicken.
Roasted vegetables, like zucchini, bell peppers, or carrots, add color and nutrition to the plate, with their natural sweetness enhancing the overall flavor.
For a simple yet satisfying side, consider pasta—perhaps a light spaghetti tossed in olive oil and fresh herbs, letting the chicken be the star. To complete the experience, a light red wine like Pinot Noir or a crisp white like Pinot Grigio makes a lovely addition.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika for added depth
  • 1/3 cup seasoned or plain breadcrumbs (if using plain, add 1 tsp dried Italian herbs)
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 to 3/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp coarse black pepper
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 3–4 pieces), cut to around 1 inch in thickness
For the Potatoes:
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped (or 1/2 tsp dried), for a herbaceous touch or 1/2 tsp dried
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 2 lbs red-skinned potatoes, cut into bite-sized chunks (small potatoes quartered; larger ones into 6 or 8 pieces)
For the Green Beans:
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest for a bright note
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese, if desired
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed

Method

Step 1: Preheat the Oven
  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). A hot oven is essential for achieving that crispy texture we all crave.
Step 2: Prepare the Chicken
  1. In a bowl, combine the seasoned or plain breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
In another bowl, add the finely chopped garlic to the extra-virgin olive oil. Dip each piece of chicken into the garlic oil, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture. Set aside on a plate.
Step 3: Prepare the Potatoes
  1. In a mixing bowl, toss red-skinned potatoes with olive oil, garlic, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Make sure each piece is well coated. Spread them evenly onto one side of a large sheet pan.
Step 4: Add the Chicken
  1. Next, arrange the coated chicken on the other side of the pan. There should be plenty of space between the pieces to allow air to circulate for even cooking.
Step 5: Roast
  1. Pop the sheet pan into the oven and roast for about 20 minutes. You'll start to see golden-brown colors forming.
Step 6: Prepare the Green Beans
  1. While the chicken and potatoes roast, prepare the green beans. Toss them in a bowl with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon zest.
Step 7: Add the Green Beans
  1. After the chicken and potatoes have roasted for those first 20 minutes, pull the sheet pan out. Carefully add the green beans to the pan, spreading them evenly. If you love Parmesan cheese as much as I do, sprinkle some over the beans now.
Step 8: Finishing Touches
  1. Return the sheet pan to the oven and roast for another 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the potatoes are fork-tender.
Step 9: Serve and Enjoy!
  1. Once it’s done, carefully take it out and let it cool for a minute. Serve right from the pan for a casual family-style meal. Your effort will definitely shine through each plate.

Notes

  • Smoked Paprika: This spice adds unique flavors that transform your chicken. If you prefer less smokiness, feel free to stick with sweet or regular paprika.
  • Breadcrumbs: For the best crunch factor, go for panko breadcrumbs. If you are gluten-free, there are excellent gluten-free options available.
  • Parmesan Cheese: Freshly grated always tastes better than the pre-grated bags. It melts beautifully over chicken and veggies.
  • Potatoes: Red-skinned potatoes hold their shape well. If you’re looking for alternatives, Yukon golds will work just fine.
  • Green Beans: Choosing fresh beans elevates the dish. If you grab frozen, just adjust the cooking time.
